Each year, the Gulf Region sponsors several different training events for every commander. As Royal Ranger leaders, our mission is to reach, teach, and keep boys for Christ, and it is our desire to help commanders from the local level to the regional level fulfil that call. To effectively train leaders for this task, the Gulf Region assists the districts in our region in supplying commanders with world class, top notch training, from a regional level which includes : National Training Camps (NTC, ANTC, NTT, NCE, RKTC, and WCO), Regional Training Seminars that offer LTA Module training, Instructor Trainer Seminars, FCF Certification, and instruction on many subjects related to Royal Rangers.
Each year, the region sponsors a National Training Camp (NTC) that moves from district to district. In doing this, we offer national level training in every district. The staff is chosen from among those within the borders of our region, truly making it a regional affair.
In February of each year, the annual Gulf Region Training Seminar is held in Memphis, Tennessee, the most central geographic location in the region. This conference, lead by the regional staff, is an outstanding time of training, fellowship and renewal. |

Class sessions are developed that would not normally be taught at the district level, or at times national training such as the World Class Outpost will be offered. This seminar is for every commander, not just those on the section or district levels. |

Why is training important? Training is the key to success. Attending training shows others that you feel that this is a worthwhile cause. It makes you better. An untrained athlete is of no value to his team. He is not conditioned or disciplined enough to see the game through completion. He does not have the drive or the stamina to compete against players who have taken the time and energy to learn how to become the best, how to give the best effort that they can. We are all part of a Royal Ranger team, and we march onto the playing field, called the weekly meetings. We had better be prepared to meet the challenge. Leadership training helps you do that. It makes the job easier, gives you an edge.
Over the years, many outposts have failed because the outpost leadership did not see the need or have the vision for training. Those outposts failed and boys were let down.
Training is a continual process. As we progress through this adventure called Royal Rangers, we will need to learn new things to enhance our ministry. You need training! |
